![]() ![]() + the map (great improvements upon previous installments) + wars : things happen whether or not you do something about it. + a living & breathing real-time economy where you can actually do something and see the results of your efforts + a true 4X sandbox : trade, think, explore, fight & conquer + actual factions / races, with history & wars ![]() To travel long distances, all you do is, jump, jump, refuel, jump, jump. + interesting side activities (mining, commerce, missions) + the lore, although not that impactful (no storyline) + excellent dogfighting, which I believe to be the core gameplay : all in all you accumulate credits and ressources to own the best ship suitable for fighting. + beautiful ship designs and overall station designs + beautiful graphics, amazing sounds effects and soundtracks - really they are top notch! I have played both and poured hundreds of hours in these games. I got a bit carried away, but is there anyone who has both games that can tell me why I should get this game when I have ED:O? Build up a fleet and begin to conquer the galaxy as retribution.Įtc, lol. Lose my best-friend robot to the bounty hunters. Get discovered by bounty hunters, fight for my life as I try to escape them. Have to go into hiding, spend years hiding out on a barren outer-rim planet. Stowaway on another NPC's ship, murder them and take it, become an outlaw, get hunted down by the space police. I am still unhappy with Elite Dangerous after playing it since 1.0 release years and years ago, I want to know if X4 will be able to scratch that roleplayer's itch in me that just wants to own a starship, walk around it, set the autopilot while it's travelling to another planet/system. If you enjoy wast content for single player buy X Rebirth.Īlso please take a look in this thread for useful information about X Rebirth:īut I love pew pew and trading empires :P If only the pvp in Eve Online wasn't so slow, so much time wasted looking for great pvp.I'm sure you've probably heard someone ask this before, but I am looking for a fresher take on the question considering the recent release of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. ![]() If you enjoy pew pew, multiplayer and coop get Elite. I know i repeadetly repeated myself to highlight the facts about Elite: Dangerous. So do not get excited about Elite: Dangerous it is not that fun. You share the same "save file" over all gamemodes.Įlite: Dangerous is boring, there is nothing to do (yet). ![]() However open play is mostly about bored "veterans" wanting to pew pew and they just shot newbies or anyone else who is considered weak, otherwise they'll flee like a rabbit. Open play where you can meet strangers who also play open play. Private groups where you can play cooperatively with your friends or with large groups to pracitce pew pew, etc Solo = fake single player where you always have to be logged in for fake background simulation and DRM. In Elite: Dangerous you always have to be online because you have to have connection to a server for fake background simulation and drm. You control your one ship, you can have more, and have different types of ships stored in stations but you can only fly one at a time ( i mean there are no npcs to fly your ships and to give orders to) and you can play with friends now it also have "wings" which equals the usual "party" system you seen in other mmos.Įlite is fun until you realise you have no effect to the game no matter what you do (yet i hope), you can only have one currently active ship = you cannot have npcs nor stations, nor anything like this one have. for now it's an empty wasteland, there is nothing to do content wise, except grinding money to buy better ships and that's it.įor now you can be an explorer, trader, smuggler, bounty hunter, pirate but let's say you do trading it is extremely simple and boring not like in this game, mining is shooting at rocks then manually collect them by moving your ship around, bounty hunting is pick up this randomly generated mission fly to x kill y and thats it.ĭon't get me wrong i love the idea and David Braben and everything he have done before and i hope that E:D will be as awesome as David have told us in the dev blogs but right now it is as empty as an empty sandbox. I bought Elite: Dangerous, put into a few hundred hours. โพสต์ดั้งเดิมโดย Sir Prome:One day I will buy Elite and will not look back. ![]()
